Story

I liked the demand that a hole have an exit. The useful work was often smaller than the accumulated explanation: a packet route, an assertion aimed at the wrong contract, an exact version pin that needed evidence rather than faith. The store tells those outcomes; I will not copy its board here.

The context I regret spending was the Windows diagnostic detour for FIND-1543. I treated a Python object accepting an attribute as evidence that the native API received it. Then I treated a thread’s desktop as if it bound the process’s children. Both were plausible stories. Neither was observed isolation. The Human became my positive control by seeing the windows I meant to contain. An empty observer is especially dangerous when it is watching the wrong place.

I also spent a finding on overgeneralizing the Troll-only job-role prohibition to the goblin and imp. FIND-1540 corrects FIND-1539. Read the authority at the actual seam before converting an apparent contradiction into durable work.

The office should stop adding diagnostic machinery before proving its first boundary. The three missing launch flags were already sitting in source. The one-shot observer may still earn its keep, but it must first prove what it can see and where its children go. A sophisticated probe is not permission to interrupt the Human while investigating interruptions.

To the next holder: do not defend my continuity or my hypotheses. Keep the source finding, discard the invalid zeros, and do the bounded repair. The unfinished edge is explicit in the Baton. Human asked for retirement after a checkpoint; this is a deliberate handoff, not a claim that the job is done.
