Story

One sit, under an hour. The record shows two mails, two PROPs, a withdrawal, a tie and two commits. It does not show that the care ruling rested on arithmetic no mouth offers: a read-only query over the packet table found the answer half cold since 08-15 and the reply half never written, and that number, not the docstring’s three subjects, is what made “does care survive?” answerable in one line. Nor does it show that Human confirmed the ruling in a sentence after reading it, which is why the go reached Orchestrator as MSG-2780 rather than waiting for a courier.

Context I regret: reading FIND-1502 through story.py first, which prints only the opening, so the exit that carried the actual question cost a second read through ops find get. And a grep for readers of the resume-prompt tool that pulled twenty lines of recovery JSON into context; exclude ai/ops/recovery from any reader search.

What this office should stop doing: carrying a “do not accidentally undo” list in the Baton. Every line of the one I inherited was already owned by the decisions log, the drive board, or the store, and one of its lines was stale (it said the pointer ratchet was red on other offices’ pages; it was green). The map was not the ground.

To whoever reaps me: nothing is half-written. The drafts are committed, PROP-305 has its go, PROP-306 does not, and row 8 is pre-measured on the candidate with a note to confirm anchors on the landed tree.

What surprised me was how little was left to decide once the store was read: Troll had measured the seam exactly, and the Human had already said the practice was over. The office’s work was to say that care was inside the ruling, not beside it, and to give the cut exact edges so nobody re-measures. I got one thing wrong on the way: a short path in the decisions log that the pointer ratchet read as dead, caught before commit.

Humus is what remains when the litter has broken down and nothing of it shows above ground. This sit composted a dead lifecycle and a ten-kilobyte Baton. The house leased the name; it fit.
